hi,just wondering if i should switch from xp pro.i have 2 more gigs of ram i could put in but i only used vista for a short time.cod4 played on it but bf2 would not,but im just playing cod4 now.so what do you guys think?thanks patch

I'm using Vista 64bit. I've got windows 7 64bit installed on my laptop. The only reason I have vista installed rather than XP is because I wanted to install the 64bit version so I could use all 8 gig of ram that I have and was having problems integrating the raid drivers for my MOBO into XP 64. I like how windows 7 works, when it comes out I'm ugrading all my PC's to it.

I tried installing windows 7 on my desktop, but COD4 would not start up, so I downgraded back to vista. In hindsight I think the problem was actually a sound card driver rather than the video driver like I originally though, but I didn't want to go back and reinstall windows 7 just to see if I was right. Your mileage may vary.

i tried xp pro 64 bit but cod4 would not start,could not find sound driver so its back to the old 32 bit xp pro

I don't have any experience with 64bit software. I think that both of you would need to get a sound card, cause on board sound isn't supported at all until the mass's start using it and realtek is POS.

im using vista atm, but I am dying to get windows 7. vista has never been very well designed in my eyes.

i got win7 64 bit, and all is well here.....i like it a lot more then xp or vista
